Proposed Projects

Please check here for the latest information on proposed improvements to our water utility!

  • Previous USDA-RD Loans

Lee County Water Supply Corporation currently has $10.7 million remaining notes from USDA-RD from Phases 8, 9, 10 & 11. We are currently planning Phases 12 & 13.

  • Phase 12

Currently, Lee County WSC is in the preliminary engineering and funding stage of a $22 million project to replace and upgrade lines in multiple areas of our four-county system due to aging infrastructure, high maintenance, and growth. The increase in material costs over the last four years has driven costs up dramatically in this industry nationwide. We continue to prioritize this project to get the most out of the funding, not only for current issues but future ones as well. This project was originally scheduled to be part of a $45 million project, but it has currently been split into two project phases. 12 being the first of the two to be implemented.

  • Preliminary Emergency Replacement Well

Lee County Water Supply Corporation is currently evaluating one of its 42-year-old wells for possible emergency replacement due to casing issues, at a minimum cost of $ 1.5 million. We are currently attempting an alternative approach; if it is successful, it will result in substantial savings.

  • Meter Replacement Project

In the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the Corporation will replace and upgrade all our water meters, as most of the meters in the system are approaching 20 years of age, which is the maximum lifespan for meters. Currently, we have an AMR system (Automated Meter Reading), which is a drive-by meter reading system. We are converting to an AMI system (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), which is a cellular read system. The replacement costs will be a minimum of $2.5M installed. This system will provide customers with greater flexibility to view their reading and usage on a daily basis via their customer portal along with the new billing system. We have been testing meters and software for months now.

  • New Billing System
    September 2025

Lee County WSC is currently transitioning from AVR (i3Vertical) to CUSI, a web-based utility billing system. This change, accompanied by our new AMI meter system, will allow customers more abilities than ever before to view their bills, daily usage, and process bill payments. We encourage all our customers to update their contact information in order to prepare for this transition. In the future, high-usage cut-off notices, emergency notices, and other communications concerning LCWSC will be sent via phone, text, or email, all in an effort to better serve our customers.

  • Rate Increases
    January 2026

Upcoming rate increases and tier restructuring due to project costs. Our customer will see a rate increase along with tier changes effective January 1, 2026. We are currently running models based on fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, using current usage and projections to determine the necessary increases and changes to fund projects.
